My son enjoys playing the matching game, but we haven’t come across any in the store geared toward younger pre-schoolers. I thought he might be more engaged with a few personalized touches, so I put together this budget-friendly idea with his artwork featured as the matches.
Using brightly colored heavy card stock, cut out the cards and embellish one side. Using a scanner, upload several pieces of your child’s artwork to a computer. Scale them down appropriately to fit the size cards you will be using. Mine was set to 35%. Print two copies of each and cut away the excess. Paste artwork cutouts to the blank side of the cards. You can laminate them for extra durability, if desired.
My son loves his new game. He must have thanked me half a dozen times…definitely a big reward as a momma for just an hour or so of easy work!
